Whether you are suffering from a broken tooth, have tooth decay, or you simply need to repair dental damage from years of wear and tear, Dr. Skidmore and Dr. Will will work to restore the structure of your teeth.

Cavity Fillings

A cavity, also known as tooth decay or dental caries, is the breakdown of the outer surface of your tooth known as enamel. A cavity is caused when acids from our diet and plaque rest on the enamel surface. Once tooth demineralization forms a pit or hole in the tooth, Dr. Skidmore or Dr. Will can remove decay and fill the hole with a white composite filling.
How to Prevent Cavities:
● Avoid sugary foods and drinks
● Brush twice a day and floss once
● Frequent X-Rays
● Fluoride treatments-Talk to your doctor about any conditions or medications causing low salivary flow

Crowns

A crown is a porcelain cap that covers an entire tooth.
A crown is sometimes required if:
● A cavity is too large to place a filling
● There is a large crack
● The tooth is worn down
● The tooth has had a root canal
Investing in a crown can restore your teeth to their greatest potential!

Bridges

A dental bridge can close the gap between missing teeth. A bridge contains a false tooth connected to two anchoring teeth on each side of the crowns. We use porcelain material that blends in with your natural smile, so no one will notice a difference in your smile!

Implants

Implants are placed into the jawbone in order to replace any missing teeth. After the implant has integrated with the bone, a crown is restored on the implant.

Single tooth implants replace individual teeth. Single implants match the surrounding natural teeth in size and color.

Bridge implants replace two or more adjacent teeth without impacting the nearby natural
teeth. These stand-alone bridges make brushing and flossing easier.

Implant supported dentures replace one or more whole arches. Unlike traditional dentures, which are prone to slippage and irritation, implant supported dentures stay in place. Rods are strategically placed to support the dentures, which can either snap on permanently or be
removed.

Implants can and should be treated like normal teeth. Dr. Skidmore is an expert and can place and restore implants right here in the office. No need to go to the oral surgeon anymore!

Root Canals

Once infection is present on a tooth or an abscess forms at the root tip, a root canal may be the only option for saving the tooth. The infected pulp or nerve of the tooth is removed and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned out, disinfected, filled and sealed. A root canal treated tooth is always followed up with a crown to protect your investment.

Extractions with Site Preservation

While our number one goal is to always save your natural teeth, sometimes it is necessary to extract a tooth. Reasons for extractions include fractures, severe decay, and infection. However, our dentists can perform a socket preservation, place bone graft material in order to preserve the bone levels for future implants down the road. Our goal is to make this experience as simple as possible.

Partials or Dentures

Custom made to fit your mouth, dentures are a removable appliance that can replace multiple missing teeth.
There are two types of dentures:
● Complete Dentures are used to replace all the teeth in your mouth
● Partial Dentures are used when you still have some natural teeth.
